Islamic Obligations

Sadaqa (Syed)
Funds are used to provide financial assistance to needy community members. We assist community members with groceries, light and water bills, education, transportation and other miscellaneous items. Our goal is to help our needy community members get back on their feet. We do not provide long term assistance to individuals capable of earning a living on their own.

Fitra (Syed)
This Zakat is obligatory for any person who is mature, sane, conscious and financially able at sunset on the last Day of Ramadhan to pay for himself and his dependents. The rate is 3 kilograms (1 SA = 6.6 Lbs.) of Wheat, Rice, Barley, Raisin, Date or similar produce per person.



Fitra (Non-Syed)
This Zakat is obligatory for any person who is mature, sane, conscious and financially able at sunset on the last Day of Ramadhan to pay for himself and his dependents. The rate is 3 kilograms (1 SA = 6.6 Lbs.) of Wheat, Rice, Barley, Raisin, Date or similar produce per person.



Khums
Obligatory Khums payments on 20% of net savings. We have permission from the office of the respected marajah to collect and expend khums on their behalf.
