IEC Sunday School Majlis flyer

Inshallah on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 IEC Sunday School will be conducting a MAJLIS by the students after Zohrain salaat. All parents are invited to attend and encourage the students. We are looking for parents to sponsor the tabarruk for the Majlis and are requesting monetary donations towards it.

**The majlis is open to the community.

IEC Board of Directors Elections

All members of the community are encouraged to participate in the upcoming elections for the IEC Board of Directors for the term 2010-2012. You can participate by

1. Nominating an eligble member ( upto 9 positions are to be filled)
2. Be a nominee for the positions available ( please check if you are eligble to stand for the position).
3. Be sure to come and cast your vote March 6th, 2010 at the IEC.
4. Pray for those who are coming forward to serve in next term of office and for this election process to be done in a manner that will please Allah(swt) and the Imam(AS) of our time.

By participating in any of the above activities we strenghten our community and perform a very important religious duty by electing dedicated members who will serve for the next two years. The deadline to submit the Nomination is Feb. 10th, 2010. Please mail your nomination forms in time or personaly give to one of the following members of the Election Commision:

Br. Hajji Saleem

May Allah (swt) help us to accomplish this very important function in the best manner.

Disaster Relief Fund

Islamic Education Center, Houston has set a Disaster Relief Fund to be able to respond to disasters like the one seen in Haiti. This will be a general fund to respond to disasters and every effort will be made to send the money through the most dependable channels to the disaster for which the donation is made. Any unused funds will stay in the account for future disasters, although we do not forsee this happening at this time given the magnitude of this disaster. Please contribute generously to help alleviate some of the sufferings of the people of Haiti. An online option for donation has been added as well. You may contact any of the Board members or members of the MAHDI group who are coordinating our community's efforts for the current crises in Haiti.
